Careers Support

Careers Information, Advice and Guidance is integral part of everything we do at Accord Sixth Form College. All students can access one-to-one careers appointments to support them to make informed decision about their future. Our students progress on to a variety of different opportunities when they leave us including Russell Group universities, degree and general apprenticeships, and employment, and as result we have a high success rate in supporting students into these positive destinations.

Each year we hold our annual Higher Education (HE) Fair where we welcome representatives from more than over 30 universities who provide advice and guidance to students and parents. As part of the evening, we also have talks which explain the UCAS applications system and everything they parents and students need to know about student finance.

Students also attend the annual UCAS Fair held at Leeds Beckett University to help them with their career decision making process, so they can find out about information from all the higher education providers in the UK as well as some from abroad. We carry out bespoke trips to universities depending on students’ interest and support them to attend open days and taster sessions.

In addition to supporting students with university applications, we also run apprenticeship and employment workshops to support those students wishing to progress into these destinations. We have representation from a large number of employers coming into the college to promote employment opportunities, supporting students with mock interviews and assessment days where applicable. Many of our students secure opportunities as result of attending these workshops.
